Abstract

Biomass, an abundant resource, offers a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. This paper discusses the use of biomass pyrolysis to convert wood residues into valuable products like bio-oil, bio-char, and bio-gases, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional combustion and waste management practices, reducing greenhouse effects. This review explores biomass conversion into energy, focusing on thermochemical processes and fixed bed pyrolysis reactor design limitations. It explores biomass's potential as a sustainable energy source, highlighting its technical and environmental benefits and applicability to various waste sources. The review promotes renewable energy technology as an alternative to conventional fossil fuels and supports sustainable development goals for the future.
